What’s the Deal with Baby Showers?

What are Baby Showers?

Baby showers are a get-together – a celebration of a new baby coming into the world. And, of course, a time to ask for gifts with the excuse of the baby. During this event, you ‘shower’ the expecting parents with affection (and gifts), commemorating their good news of welcoming a little one into their lives.

What do you do at Baby Showers?

Baby showers can be however you want them to be! From being a laid-back event such as a meal, a barbeque or tea with a family and friends, to a bigger scale get-together event, the celebration of being new parents-to-be is the important part. There are a variety of different things you can do within these events, such as games and gift-giving. A good baby shower won’t leave you wondering what to do, so our game suggestions are perfect for breaking the ice at a party (especially for guests who may not know each other well).

What Gift do I Bring to a Baby Shower?

Typically, guests of baby showers will bring a gift for the expecting parents. Most often, these gifts will relate to the baby, including essentials such as nappies, blankets, baby mats, bottles, clothes and baby toys. Or you can gift the newly expecting parents a present for once their little ones are around them – chocolates, relaxing bath treats or even a meal voucher would be a valued gift!

Have Fun!

A baby shower is a time to show your support and how much you care for the newly expecting parents. Whatever your role is in a baby shower, we hope you have fun and can celebrate with friends and family for the new little one entering the world!
